A house maintained by the people who use it

Every improvement to the building comes from a simple principle: make the space easier to gather in, easier to book and more useful to the village. That means practical upgrades, shared responsibility and programming that stays close to what residents actually want.

  • Flexible rooms for meetings, rehearsals, family events and civic use
  • Volunteer-led maintenance days that keep costs grounded and ownership local
  • Partnerships that connect Friels with schools, culture groups and nearby villages
24 community care days are scheduled this year to support the building, garden and public rooms.
11 returning partner groups help keep the calendar active across culture, youth work and village meetings.
